Since birth, I’m in love with Christmas! 🙂 Every year the anticipation is pumped with high energy from decorating the tree to buying presents. But this year is even hyper because this is our first Christmas in our new house. I’ve been debating if my family should continue the tradition of having the fresh cut tree or try the Balsam Hill. After thinking the pros and cons, I decided to get the 7-ft Fresh Fraser Fir Christmas Tree. Although the pine needles can be annoying and the cost gets expensive every year, we love the smell of the tree. It smells like Christmas.
This year, our color schemes are red, green and gold. I love how elegant and festive these colors are. Most of the ornaments I used were from the previous years. The tree topper, lights and gold ornaments are the new additions. I also added a red ribbon this year to enhance the beauty of the tree.
Initially, I placed the tree in the hallway but realized later on that it should be by the fireplace. We live in Florida, and when we get the chance to use the fireplace, we jump into it. Did you notice I didn’t use lights anywhere on the fireplace? I intended to. There are 700 lights on the tree already! The idea is to balance the look and maintain a smooth flow of the decorations. The three stockings are for my husband (the one with Santa), mine (red), and Chase, our 5year old Shih Tzu (red).
After the time spent decorating our tree, I’m pleased to see how it turned out. It’s indeed what I envisioned for this year! It’s the first day of December and therefore, 24 days to Christmas. Are you ready to celebrate?
