Hi! My name is Marilie Daniels and Organized Neatly is my cup of tea. For as long as I can remember, I love organizing, decorating, and DIY projects. I’m a self-confessed minimalist and simplicity is my style. My family and my Shih Tzu are what make me obsessively grateful for the gift of life every day and I’m enjoying every moment of it in the sunshine state, Florida.
I’m a wife, fur mom, sister to three, daughter to the most amazing parents, and above all, I’m a child of God. I have a Master of Business Administration [MBA] and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degrees. I do not work in the field though. My 10+ years professional background were spent in the hotel industry from Guest Services to Human Resources to Sales and Marketing, and as well as managed our vacation rental properties up North.
I was born and raised on a small island in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 2006. English is my second language. I speak with an accent, and you can even hear it in my writing. I love to learn and enhance my knowledge in every way possible. I would like to hear your comments as it helps me grow, and they sure make my day. I genuinely believe that every one of us has untapped potential to do what we have set our minds to achieve with commitment, hard work, and self-discipline. Indeed, it’s true that “It doesn’t matter where you came from, all that matters is where you are going.”
OrganizedNeatly.com inception in 2017 is a blessing. After losing my youngest sister to breast cancer at the age of 33 in 2016, I got lost and found myself very unhappy with my job at that time. That made me realize how short life is. Since she left two boys who needed a family, I knew that despite the heartaches, I have to stay on track with the right mindset. That’s how our adoption journey started, and while waiting for the boys, I know I have to find an outlet where I can write and share my passion.
“Organized Neatly is a place for inspiration to create a beautiful home from organizing to decorating to DIY projects.”
In 2017 after I left my corporate job, my husband and I purchased our first house together. As excited as I was, I found myself staring at the clean slate space when we moved in. Coming from a small apartment was a challenge because our furniture and organizing and décor items no longer fit in any room of the new house. At a minimal cost, I was able to turn our house into a cozy, warm, and inviting home one room at a time.
I hope that our journey as first-time homeowners and prospective adoptive parents will inspire you in some ways and that you find something that fits your style. Maybe a DIY project that will get you started or organizing and decorating tips that will help you and your family create your dream space.
