I have something new for you today, Free Printables Home Inventory Binder! Some of you may not know that I spent over a decade in the hotel industry from Guest Services to Human Resources to Sales and Marketing before I finally left last year. The point is, those years have molded me to be more organized and to think creatively. Although I’m sure, my parents and sisters would argue that those qualities are already innate in me since the day I was born [they’re family indeed. 🙂 ].
After 9-months since we purchased and moved into our first house, I’ve never been more determine to complete our home inventory binder. I still can’t believe how time flies and things had changed. Pinch me! It feels like it was just a few days ago since we moved into the blank slate house and now, I’ve diligently filled out this home inventory sheet for every room. Although we have yet to buy a few furniture and appliances on our wish list, starting a home inventory binder is setting up ourselves ahead of the game in case of theft, fire, or natural disaster.
But home inventory binder is boring! Right? Of course! Well, that’s definitely just another excuse until something would happen. An hour or two spent to fill out the home inventory sheets is a must-investment of time. I’m sure, you’ll thank yourself later. Aside from having an easy to use printables, having it designed with pretty in mind is a game changer. Who doesn’t like pretty printables? I believe, majority of us can’t resist anything that’s pretty.
On the serious note, this home inventory binder can help you maintain, protect and secure your valued tangible assets. When I did ours, I listed every item in each room from curtains to big furniture and added details like sizes, colors, etc. on the description and other important details on the notes section. It’s also a must to note if the item is antique/ collectible. Depending on how well you want to organize this information, you can color code it with highlighters. There’s no exact formula on how to do a home inventory. It’s up to you to decide what style works for you and your family.
