As I was writing this post ‘How to Organize Kitchen Drawers (Large and Small), I realized that Thanksgiving is just one week away. More reasons for us to organize our kitchen drawers so that when our friends and family would come over for the holiday, we are ready to welcome them and make them feel at home.
Over six months ago, I had a post about “5 Steps to an Organized Kitchen Drawers“. The post is geared toward those who are just starting the process of organizing their kitchen drawers. This was written before our kitchen makeover as you will notice in the pictures. I am passionate about using acrylic organizers in small spaces. The simplicity of the design and its inexpensive cost are my favorite reasons for every purchase.

How to Organize Kitchen Drawers (Large or Small)
Get the right measurement of each drawer. Then, find organizers that fit your needs. Every time I share organizing tips, I always want to put the disclaimer that every family and every home have different style and preferences. My goal is to provide you with some ideas that may work for you.
For now, it is only me and my husband and our Shih Tzu and although, we are improving regarding cooking (shhh both of us do not like to cook) the kind of utensils we using are obviously different than to many of you. But I believe that the challenge of choosing the right drawer organizers is what we both shared.
I love, love, love acrylic organizers. But the quality, the design, and the price are always the determining factors when purchasing. Most of my acrylic organizers are from InterDesign. Depending on your utensils and the sizes of your drawers, there are available options that fit your needs. Where do I buy ours? I purchased ours from The Container Store. However, I checked on Amazon, and I found the same organizers. There are also options available at Bed Bath and Beyond.
We have a small kitchen in our house. In fact, we only have six drawers which include a tiny one. As a minimalist, this does not bother me because we do not keep a lot of stuff in any area of the house. Every item we have has a reason why we keep it. Instead, I take this as an opportunity to be creative. The last organizers we used were not the best fit in each drawer so, I am relocating them. Stay tuned to find out where I will use them!
The most recent purchase organizers are absolutely what I was looking for. I love the different sizes and shapes available.
How Do I Organize Our Kitchen Drawers?
From the left side of our kitchen, we have two large drawers where I organized our utensils.
The third large drawer on the left of the oven it is where I organized our knives and a few utensils.
The tiny drawer which is on the right of the oven is where I organized our kitchen towels, potholders, and oven mitts.
The last two drawers which are medium sized are where I organized Chase, our Shih Tzu items he needs on a daily basis and one serves as our junk drawer, respectively.
There you have it! That’s how I organized our kitchen drawers (large and small). I hope this helps!
Let me know in the comments below if you have additional tips. I would love to hear from you!
