Yay, I’m finally sharing our summer back porch reveal before this season ends! I’ll talk about a few of my decorating tips and the best sources of the items that I use.
It took me a while to tackle this space since my priorities are on the interior decorating and organizing along with a few DIY projects. Moving into a clean slate house is good. But it’s also challenging in so many aspects. Without a doubt, I learned a lot from this journey and will continue to learn from here.
Now, let’s talk about the back porch. When we moved here, this space is open, and although we love spending early mornings and evenings in this area, it immediately changed when we realized the presence of various Florida bugs. For a few months, we barely used the space. At some point, it became my workshop, and it worked because it was easy to use my power tools in an open area. Then, after my DIY projects, it became gardening tools and supplies storage.
In November last year, my husband and I decided to install a screen in the back porch to make it useful. I have to admit that my DIY senses were eager to do it myself with a few help from YouTube tutorials. But after I learned about HOA requirements, I backed off. In this case, hiring a professional was the best route for us. A quick tip when searching for a professional. Be sure to find reviews from previous clients or ask the neighbors for recommendations. The one we’d contracted didn’t show up at the agreed date and has kept pushing the work at a later date after paying half of the price as a downpayment. Thank goodness we came to the end of it and the work was completed to our satisfaction.
A month ago, I shared on my insta stories the furniture that I wanted to get for our back porch. But by the time I was ready to purchase, it was no longer available. I’ve waited for another couple of weeks, and there’s still no positive update.
So, I looked for an alternative without giving up my style. Here it is!
The 6-piece dining set is the newest furniture in the house. Its sleek design has a timeless look which fits right into my style. The set includes a table, four armchairs, and a dining bench that seats two. Both the table and bench have rustic planked tops that are beautifully grained and look just like wood. Four armchairs are designed with supportive sling mesh seats featuring hidden cushioning for all-day comfort. I love the heavy-gauge steel frames and a sturdy powder-coated finish.

Both table and bench are easy installs anyone can do it. The chairs arrived in a huge box ready for use. By far, this is better than the first pick.
The area rug that I use here is from our small apartment. It’s one of the items that I know I’ll use in one space of this house. The blue with a mix of bright colors is just right.
The plants make the space look relaxing and inviting.
For the centerpiece, I used blue faux flowers.
Have you sensed my love for blue yet?
